Astoria is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Astoria is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We recently visited Paris Oven Bakery and tried the mango-shaped chocolate mousse cake and the coconut-shaped mango mousse cake. Both desserts looked beautiful and were very creative in presentation. The flavors were good and pleasantly sweet, but they weren’t exceptional. They’re worth trying once if you’re curious about their unique designs. The highlight of our visit was the excellent customer service. The lady at the counter was incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to interact with customers, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it’s a nice bakery to visit for its artistic desserts and friendly atmosphere. While the cakes didn’t completely wow us, they were still a fun one-time treat.

This place is about a 30 second walk from my new apartment and my dad who has a major sweet tooth was visiting so we went several times. Everything is reasonably priced and nothing was bad—my parents both liked the double chocolate croissant a lot. Also very friendly staff. The only small complaints are 1. Some of the more custard like and fancier deserts are quite expensive, though they take a lot of work to make I would assume. 2. This isn’t the fault of the bakery maybe, but both the 34th Ave and especially the Steinway locations are incredibly depressing spaces to enter—very gray and sad. I would never ever go there to sit and eat anything—though I will still continue to get things to go. Overall very good spot(s). Ps. It is kind of a strange growth strategy to me for a bakery to have two branches that are less than a block from each other. I asked the staff at the newer Steinway location and am still not sure .

The pastries here are so pretty and delicious to look at, so far the ones I’ve tried were absolutely delicious! I definitely want to come back and try more desserts. It’s nice and quiet. This place definitely makes a nice cute little date spot.

Today, I needed to recharge and find a place where I could have breakfast and try some new food. I discovered this cute little spot called Paris Bakery, and the experience was fantastic. I’ve been to Paris many times, and it reminded me of Paris a bit. If you like to eat healthily like myself, avoiding too much sugar in your coffee and too much sodium in your food, then this is the place for you. I had a cheese omelette, which was soft, and to drink, I had an iced matcha with almond milk. The staff was very friendly, and the place was clean.

What a wonderful place! The staff is so nice and friendly! The baked goods are extra extraordinary. So fresh and delicious. They make very good coffee drinks, too. Go!
